Terms of Service

Last updated: September 20, 2026

1. Who we are

Rafter 9 Ranch LLC (“Rafter 9 Ranch,” “we,” “us”) operates rafter9.ag from Fallon, Nevada. You can reach us at mark@rafter9.ag or 775-217-2325. Ranch visits are by appointment.

2. What these terms cover

By using rafter9.ag or placing an order with us, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or place an order.

3. Beef shares

  • Deposit and balance. Beef shares are reserved with a deposit paid at checkout. The balance is billed on finished (take-home) weight — the weight of the packaged beef you actually receive — not carcass or hanging weight.
  • Estimates are estimates. The weights and totals shown on this site are estimates based on typical animals. Your final weight and balance will vary. We confirm the final total with you before billing the balance.
  • What is in a share. Every share is a balanced mix of steaks, roasts, ground, and specialty cuts. There is no cut sheet to fill out. Exact proportions vary by animal.
  • Deposit refunds. Your deposit is refundable up until the animal is harvested. Once the animal has been harvested, the deposit is non-refundable — at that point the beef has been cut and packed for you and cannot be resold as a share.
  • Processing. Animals are USDA-processed by a third-party facility. Harvest and processing schedules depend on that facility’s availability.

4. Delivery, pickup, and shipping

  • We offer local pickup in Fallon, Nevada; scheduled delivery to the regions listed on our beef page; or UPS 2-day ground where your beef arrives still frozen.
  • We choose the ship date to protect your beef. We ship only when we are confident the order will arrive without spoiling. If weather, carrier delays, or the calendar put a shipment at risk, we will hold it and send it later. We never ship on a weekend — no order should sit in a depot over a Saturday and Sunday. This means your ship date may move. We will tell you when it does.
  • Receiving your order. You need to be available to receive a perishable shipment on the delivery date we give you, or have somewhere cold for it to go. If a shipment is refused, returned, or left sitting after a successful delivery, we cannot replace it.
  • If your address falls outside the range where beef arrives cold, we will tell you before charging you.
  • Merchandise ships from Fallon, Nevada at the flat rate shown at checkout.

5. Bulls, females, semen, and embryos

  • Cattle are sold by private treaty or through published sales. The written terms agreed for an individual animal control over anything on this website.
  • Breeding soundness exam. Every bull we sell passes a veterinary breeding soundness exam before he leaves the ranch, and we provide the results to the buyer.
  • First breeding season guarantee. We guarantee each bull through his first breeding season. If he fails a veterinary breeding soundness exam during that season for a condition that existed at the time of sale, notify us before the end of that breeding season and we will replace him with a bull of comparable value or issue a credit toward another animal. This guarantee does not cover injury, illness, or loss occurring after delivery, and it does not cover bulls that were turned out with more females than is reasonable for their age, underfed, or otherwise mismanaged.
  • EPDs and registration data. EPDs, genomic values, and registration records are supplied by the American Angus Association and are estimates that change as new data is reported. We publish them in good faith but cannot guarantee their accuracy or any animal’s future performance.
  • Unless we state otherwise in writing for a specific animal, females, semen, and embryos are sold without warranty of fertility or production.

6. Prices and payment

Prices are in US dollars and may change without notice. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.

7. Merchandise returns

Hats and other merchandise are sold final — we do not accept returns or exchanges. If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within 14 days and we will make it right. Beef is perishable and is not returnable.

8. Website content

All text, photographs, video, and the Rafter 9 Ranch name and marks are our property or are used with permission. Please do not reproduce them commercially without our written permission. Content on this site is general information about our operation; it is not veterinary, nutritional, or professional advice.

9. Email and forms

Information you submit through our forms is used to respond to you and, if you opt in, to send sale and beef availability updates. You can unsubscribe at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent Nevada law allows, Rafter 9 Ranch LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or our products. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the product giving rise to that claim.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts serving Churchill County, Nevada.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
